Vacuum Suction Unit Set VS: Flexible and Cost-Effective Clamping Without Complex Fixtures
Vacuum and adhesive film combined – for secure fixation of flat and thin workpieces made of metal and plastic
Anyone looking to fix workpieces quickly, securely, and with minimal distortion faces a frequently underestimated challenge: conventional clamping fixtures are cost-intensive, complex to set up, and often not flexible enough for changing component geometries. Particularly for flat, thin workpieces made of metal or plastic, as well as for small components, mechanical clamping systems regularly reach their limits. The vacuum suction unit set VS by Spreitzer offers a direct and cost-effective entry into vacuum clamping technology.
The foundation of the system is the combination of vacuum and adhesive film: this connection enables extremely high holding forces when required, far exceeding what pure vacuum clamping alone can achieve. The vacuum suction units made of cast aluminium can be flexibly positioned on different machine tables and connected to one another, allowing even large-area workpieces to be fixed securely and precisely. For smaller components, each of the four suction units can also be used separately.
A decisive practical advantage of the set is the included Venturi vacuum generator: it reliably provides the necessary negative pressure between the workpiece and the suction unit without requiring an external vacuum pump. The set is therefore immediately ready for use and requires no additional infrastructure at the machine table. The scope of delivery of the set includes four vacuum suction units, one Venturi vacuum generator, a sealing rubber cord, an adhesive film, and a vacuum hose.
In terms of manufacturing quality, two versions are available: suction units with precision-milled functional surfaces achieve a parallelism of 0.02/100 mm, while the version with ground functional surfaces reaches 0.007/100 mm. The higher precision level is particularly suitable for demanding measuring tasks in which the positional accuracy of the workpiece directly influences the measurement result.
The application range of the vacuum suction unit set VS covers metrology and testing technology as well as light machining tasks. Developed and manufactured by Spreitzer in Rottweil, the VS set complements the company’s vacuum clamping technology program as a flexible and straightforward entry solution for manufacturing operations that do not require complex special fixtures.
