Permanent Magnetic Round Chucks SPMY and SPRNF: Energy-Independent Clamping of Small and Thin Workpieces

Permanent magnetic clamping technology is regarded as a reliable, low-maintenance, and energy-independent solution for clamping thin and sensitive workpieces. The magnetic force is activated purely mechanically: no electricity is required, no cabling is needed, and no heat is generated. Particularly in grinding and EDM work on delicate components, these are decisive prerequisites for straightforward and process-reliable use at the machine table.

The permanent magnetic round chuck SPMY is designed for grinding and EDM work at the highest level. A micropitch pole spacing ensures an even distribution of magnetic force and makes the round chuck ideal for grinding thin or sensitive workpieces as well as for EDM work. Compact design, precise manufacturing, and minimal residual magnetism characterize the system. It also features a low overall height and low weight and is particularly well suited for small and thin workpieces.

The permanent magnetic round chuck SPRNF complements the range as a fine-pole round chuck for small parts. It is equipped with a neodymium magnet system and a steel base body and, thanks to its low overall height, is used for clamping small and thin workpieces. The pole pitch is 1.5+0.5 mm, and the nominal holding force is approx. 80 N/cm² at a magnetic field height of approx. 4 mm. The switching travel between magnetized and demagnetized is 180°.

Both magnetic round chucks are aimed at users who want to fix small, thin, or sensitive workpieces without clamping distortion and without an additional power supply. They extend Spreitzer’s clamping technology program with two compact solutions for precise grinding and EDM processes.
