SIL2 vibration sensor with PROFINET
TWK is extending its safety sensor system range: a further sensor with the PROFIsafe over PROFINET interface is now available: vibration sensor NVT90/S3.
TWK is expanding its range of safety sensors: A further sensor with the PROFIsafe interface via PROFINET is now available: The NVT90/S3 vibration sensor. This device based on MEMS sensor technology measures low-frequency vibrations - especially in wind turbine towers. The frequency range from 0.05 Hz to 60 Hz also allows gear box disturbance vibrations to be registered.
This sensor belongs to the SIL2 family of sensors: encoders, cam switches and inclination sensors. The NVT90 measures accelerations up to +/- 2 g in the horizontal x and y axis and outputs the instantaneous values and - if desired - processed values, e.g. RMS average values or PEAK values, via the PROFINET interface. The simultaneous transmission of user data with the associated checksums ensures reliable communication between sensor and controller.
A special function is the calculation of a sum value when set limit values are exceeded - even over hours. The built-in LEDs facilitate commissioning and diagnostics in the PROFINET bus system. The robust housing is made of aluminum and is suitable for offshore use despite adverse environmental conditions.
