CDV Pharma: A Versatile Platform for Pharmaceutical Leak Testing, Methylene Blue Tests, and Vacuum & Pressure Methods
Platform designed to support URS compliance with controlled data management, versatile vacuum and pressure testing, and improved defect detection.
In pharmaceutical leak testing, it is no longer enough to perform a methylene blue test by applying vacuum and simply checking the outcome. The real requirement today goes further: manufacturers need traceability, data integrity, statistical control, and a system capable of supporting different test methodologies without multiplying equipment.
That need is what led to the development of the CDV Pharma.
The CDV Pharma was created as a platform to help manufacturers strengthen their leak testing processes, especially when they need to answer more precisely to their URS and to the control demands of the pharmaceutical environment.
A key part of this platform is its approach to data management.
The solution uses an independent module based on our Model P, operated through Orion and a dedicated application developed specifically for Pharma. This structure makes testing more controlled and more repeatable, while also reinforcing traceability and the protection of test information.
The platform can also generate PDF reports with an electronic seal, helping demonstrate that the document has not been altered. When customers need to transfer the information directly to their own systems or databases, that requirement can also be addressed.
Another essential strength of the CDV Pharma is versatility.
With the CDV Pharma V&P—Vacuum and Pressure—we offer a hardware module designed to carry out different testing methodologies on a single platform. Instead of requiring separate systems, the same equipment can be used for:
- Traditional vacuum tests.
- Internal pressurization tests.
- Transportation simulation tests.
- Methylene blue testing procedures.
The third major contribution of the platform is sensitivity.
The V&P version incorporates positive pressure into the test. This makes it possible to detect smaller leaks and to expose defects that may remain undetected when using a conventional method based only on vacuum.
This capability is paired with a chamber adapted to pharmaceutical applications, with a reduced internal height of 150 millimeters. The purpose of this design is to work more efficiently with small products and to avoid unnecessary methylene blue consumption.
Our goal is not simply to present equipment. We want to help customers meet their requirements more effectively, respond point by point to their URS, and access a testing solution that is more versatile, safer, and more sensitive.
If you want to explore the standards in more detail, better understand the actual contribution of pressure, or follow the recent evolution of the CDV Pharma, we will continue publishing videos on these topics.
