Successful Commissioning of Infrared Temperature Measurement System for Tongwei Green Material (Guangyuan) Co., Ltd. SAF

HTEC-video RB-TemTV-M800 Enhances Safety and Infrared Temperature Monitoring for the Industrial Silicon Project

Recently, HTEC-video has completed the installation and commissioning of one set of RB-TemTV-M800 infrared temperature measurement system at the industrial silicon production line of Tongwei Green Material (Guangyuan) Co., Ltd.
The system is specially applied to the company’s Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF). After being put into operation, it has significantly improved the clarity and safety of furnace monitoring, providing advanced technical support for Tongwei Green Material’s “Industrial Silicon Project.”

Project Overview
Tongwei Green Material (Guangyuan) Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tongwei Co., Ltd. (Yongxiang Branch). At this stage, it is mainly responsible for promoting the construction of the Group’s 400,000-ton Green Material (Industrial Silicon) Project. The total investment of Phase I is about 2.6 billion RMB, with twelve 33,000 kVA Submerged Arc Furnaces— a type of electric arc furnace — planned for the production of high-purity industrial silicon.
However, the SAF environment features extremely high temperatures and heavy dust, which make it difficult for traditional monitoring devices to operate stably. The Industrial Silicon Monitoring System provided by HTEC-video was developed specifically to solve this problem, offering a reliable high-temperature visualization solution.
From Old Equipment to New System: Significant Improvement in Visualization Capability
Before adopting the HTEC-video system, the site had used monitoring equipment from other manufacturers. Under strong light interference and intense thermal radiation, the image performance was blurred and failed to meet the requirements of real-time observation.

The newly installed furnace visualization system, model RB-TemTV-M800, is equipped with a Pneumatic Retraction System consisting of a cylinder, guide rail, and fixed support. When over-temperature, low-pressure, or power-off conditions occur, the probe can automatically retract from the furnace, effectively ensuring equipment safety. The core part of the system uses an industrial-grade infrared camera, with the infrared image sensor installed inside a high-temperature-resistant stainless-steel cooling housing. The housing has a multi-layer structure that allows water and air to flow through smoothly to cool the camera, enabling long-term stable operation under high-temperature conditions.

In addition, considering the frequent movement of working vehicles on site, HTEC-video added a protective barrier around the system to prevent accidental collisions.
After the system was put into operation, real-time clear visualization of the high-temperature area inside the furnace has been achieved, allowing operators to directly observe the internal condition of the Submerged Arc Furnace, effectively improving operational safety and production management efficiency.

The successful deployment of this system marks another practical application of HTEC-video in the field of the “Industrial Silicon Monitoring System.”In the future, HTEC-video will continue to cooperate with Tongwei Group to provide visualization and safety monitoring upgrade solutions for more furnaces in the Guangyuan project.
