HTEC-video's Furnace Monitoring System for CSG Float Glass

CSG Wujiang Fully Upgrades to HTEC-video Furnace Monitoring System

Recently, CSG Wujiang — the second major subsidiary of China Southern Glass Group in the Yangtze River Delta region — has completed a full upgrade of its float glass furnaces with a digital infrared monitoring system provided by HTEC-video. This marks a key milestone in enhancing production safety and furnace efficiency.

The project covers the successful installation of 20 high-temperature inspection cameras at the tin bath area (RB-XH02-CW and RB-WK02-CW), along with 2 infrared imaging systems at the rear wall (RB-TemTV- 09 ) .

In addition, 2 specialized furnace cameras have been installed at both the front wall and the critical “neck” position, using the GLASS RB-TVP model, designed for harsh furnace environments.

All equipment has been fully commissioned and is now operating reliably, providing real-time thermal monitoring across the entire furnace system.

Installation Challenges and Tailored Technical Solutions
Front Wall: Heavy Equipment, Elevated Position, Extreme Temperatures
The front wall installation presented significant difficulties because of the heavy weight of the equipment, high mounting position, and extreme environmental temperatures. After on-site assessment, the HTEC-video technical team proposed utilizing the scheduled cold maintenance period for the furnaces to implement a cold-state installation. With precise coordination, three technicians operated lifting platforms to position the cameras accurately into the designated mounting points, completing the installation efficiently and safely.

Neck Area: Limited Space, Custom Maintenance Design

The space around the neck area was extremely tight—too narrow for workers to reach in safely. To make matters worse, hot gases inside reached scorching temperatures of 1400°C

Standard tools and methods simply wouldn’t work here. After testing different ideas, the team created a smart fix: they welded two heavy-duty hooks onto the back of the camera.

Why this works:
▶️ Lets technicians safely pull out the camera from a distance

▶️ No more entering cramped, superheated spaces

▶️ Future maintenance now takes minutes, not hours

Rear Wall: Rapid Response and Design Optimization

While the rear wall infrared systems were installed smoothly, commissioning revealed image instability and blurred visuals. Detailed inspections traced the issue to a design flaw in the positioning ring. HTEC-video's engineering team immediately redesigned and expedited the manufacturing of new positioning rings, ensuring rapid on-site replacement and the successful commissioning of the equipment.

Efficient Collaboration Ensures Project Success
Despite the extreme heat, tough workload, and tight space, HTEC-video’s team worked hand in hand with CSG’s engineers. With solid expertise and efficient work, the infrared monitoring system was installed smoothly. After strict testing and several rounds of checks, the system passed acceptance and is now up and running — making furnace operations at CSG Wujiang safer and more efficient.

Amidst the demanding conditions, the team maintained a positive spirit.
“For the past two weeks, the furnace temperatures exceeded 1500°C, and outside, we’ve been roasted by heat waves over 70°C. Honestly, I feel like I’m nearly ‘fully cooked’ myself!” joked Mr. Hong, one of the on-site installation technicians.

HTEC-video is committed to delivering reliable products and professional technical services. We help high-temperature industries worldwide operate more safely, intelligently, and efficiently.
