Triangulation Distance Measurement-Sensor ASIC enhance the performance of Photoelectric Sensor

Background suppression sensor

IMS's CMOS ASIC integrates multiple pixels with its signal processing and controlcircuits to form a complete triangulation distance measurement photoelectricsensor that requires very few external components.

Function blocks inside theCMOS ASIC include CDS amplification, programmable switch capacitive amplifier, programmable LED driver, power control circuit, self-recovery short circuitprotection circuit, synchronized clock, etc.

Since it is based on the triangulation distance measurement principle, the same sensor can be configured as:

Background Suppression Sensor

Front-Ground Suppression Sensor

Window Switching Sensor

Dual Mode:distance + intensity

Enhanced Diffusive Mode Photoelectric Sensor

Apart from its multi-mode operation, the IMS sensor has the following built-in features:

Built-in 100ms Power On Delay to eliminate false triggers when powering up

Self-Recovery Short Circuit protection on NPN/PNP output (when output is shorted, output has period of 200µS on /100mS off until the output is back to normal)

10-24V Power Supply with Reverse Polarity and Over Voltage Protection

Teach-in by wire/press button

IO-LINK

IMS has a series of sensors with various operation distances

25mm/50mm/(20mm- 100mm)/(20mm -300mm)/(40mm -500mm)

IMS’s triangulation distance sensor has a measurement accuracy, including black and white difference of ±1mm for short distance sensor (100mm). For a  20mm -300mm sensor, it is measurement accuracy of ±2mm(10mm-100mm), ±5mm(100-200mm), ±20mm(200mm– 300mm)

IMS's Mulit-Mode sensors are now available in various housing. All sensors using the same ASIC. Sensor housing can be customized if required.
